Friday, September 10, 2010 Cove Camp Dutch Oven Cook-off! - 1:30 pm
Description: We are paying tribute to the Veteran's! This competition is for everyone, experience is not required. So if you have never cooked with a Dutch Oven before, have done some camp cooking or are a seasoned Dutch Oven cook, all are welcome. Remember, this is primarily a fun event. So if you are even just a little interested and think this may be fun, sign up and we'll see you at the cook-off! Competitors will be asked to cook a main dish, a dessert, and a bread. If you wish to cook only 1 or 2 items you will not be eligible for the main judging, but will be eligible for the People's Choice Award. Announcement of the winners will be at 5:30 p.m. There will be a Cook-off tasting & voting, live music, BBQ, miniature golf, wood fish derby, butter churning, homemade ice cream and a kids pie eating contest. Learn the basics of Dutch Oven cooking, bring your own oven and bake up a batch of biscuits! Your donation is appreciated and proceeds support Cove Camp. Music begins at 1:30p.m., Cook-off begins at 3p.m. and there will be food from 1:30 to 5p.m. Bring a lawn chair!!
